Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information LocalSitesEngine collects and how we use it. It covers two different things, and the difference matters: information about you as our customer, and information about YOUR customers that we handle on your behalf.
Last updated: September 2, 2026
1. Two kinds of data, two different roles
Data about you (our customer). Your name, business details, billing information, the content you give us for your site, and your support correspondence. We decide how this is used, so we are the controller for it, and the rest of this policy describes what we do with it.
Data about your customers (your leads). When someone fills in a form or calls the number on a website we built for you, we capture their details and pass them to you. That information belongs to your business, not ours. For it, you are the controller and we act only as your processor — we handle it to deliver the service and for nothing else. Those terms are set out in our Data Processing Addendum, which covers security, sub-processors, how we help with deletion requests, and what happens to your leads if you cancel.
2. Information we collect about you
- Contact details you submit through forms: name, email, phone, business, trade, city, and budget.
- Project information you provide during onboarding or custom-build intake, including photos, copy, and service details.
- Usage data such as pages visited, device type, and referral source on our marketing site.
- Billing information processed by our payment provider. We never store full card numbers.
- Acceptance records: the version of our Terms you accepted and when, so both of us have a record of what was agreed.
3. How we use your information
To respond to enquiries, build and maintain your website, process payments, send service updates and reports, and improve our templates and onboarding. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
4. Calls, voicemail and the AI receptionist
Lead Engine and Market Leader plans can include a tracked phone number. Being precise about what that does, because the distinction matters:
- We do not record live phone conversations. When a call is forwarded to you and you answer it, that conversation is not recorded by us.
- We do log call metadata — the calling number, the time, how long the call lasted, and which marketing source it came from. This is what produces your reports.
- Voicemail is recorded when a caller chooses to leave a message after the greeting and the beep. The recording is stored so it can be passed to you.
- If the AI receptionist is enabled on your line, the caller is told they are speaking to a virtual assistant, and what they say is transcribed to text and stored so the enquiry can be passed to you. Callers can ask for a human at any point.
Several states require all parties to consent before a conversation is recorded. Because we do not record live conversations, that requirement is not triggered by the forwarding feature. You remain responsible for the lawfulness of any recording you carry out yourself on your own equipment.
5. Who we share information with
We use the service providers below to operate the platform. Each is bound by confidentiality obligations and may use the data only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What they do | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Lovable (Lovable Labs Incorporated) | Application hosting, transactional email delivery, AI gateway, and connector proxy for the services below | United States |
| Supabase | Primary database, authentication, and uploaded file storage | United States |
| Stripe | Payment processing and subscription billing | United States |
| Twilio | Tracked phone numbers, call forwarding, SMS, and voicemail | United States |
| Google (Maps, Places, Geocoding) | Service-area maps and business lookup | United States |
| Cloudflare | DNS and content delivery for customer domains | Global edge network |
| OpenAI / OpenRouter / Google Gemini | Optional. Website copy generation and the AI phone receptionist, used ONLY when an operator API key is configured | United States |
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
6. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live — including under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and comparable laws in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Utah and other states — you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you and how we use it.
- Request a copy of it in a portable format.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion, subject to records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
- Opt out of sale or sharing for targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information in this way, so there is nothing to opt out of.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise any of these, email support@localsitesengine.com. We will verify your identity before acting and respond within the period the applicable law requires. You may use an authorised agent where the law allows it.
If you are one of our customers' leads — you filled in a form or called a contractor whose website we host — please contact that business directly. They control your data. If you contact us instead, we will refer you to them and let them know.
7. Data retention
We keep account and enquiry information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal or accounting obligations, then delete or anonymise it. Retention and deletion of your leads is covered separately in the Data Processing Addendum.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies on our marketing site to understand traffic and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
9. Children
The service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision, and material changes are notified to active customers.
